Concerned citizens in Nsanje held peaceful demonstrations dubbed “Malemiamustfall”.
The demonstrators were against Senior Chief Malemia’s leadership style.
The group has raised various allegations including selling of land belonging to poor people including graveyards, selling public land, according to their leader, Emmanuel Tsamdoka.
Nsanje District Commissioner, Dr. Medson Matchaya, gave the demonstrators a go- ahead to hold the protests on condition that they should be peaceful.
Meanwhile, Malemia has fought the news saying “it is not true that my office is flouting laws in selling land.”
