Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema has come out of his cocoon and declare that he will not seek re-election in 2026 general election.
Hichilema said this during the interview on Wednesday.
“I am not here to seek for re-election in 2026 but to serve the people of Zambia diligently.
“I will not shy away from making difficult decisions aimed at making the lives of Zambians better whom we were elected to serve.
“I have always said that a person who goes to State House with a view of being re-elected to serve two terms is more likely to play politics than performing to the expectations of Zambians,” said Hakainde Hichilema.
Meanwhile, it is yet to be seen if Hichilema will live up to his promises.
