PP embarks on rebuilding exercise ahead of 2025 general election

The People’s Party (PP, a party in Tonse Alliance of Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has embarked on rebuilding exercise ahead of 2025 general election.

PP Publicity Secretary Ackson Kalaile Banda has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Banda said the party will strengthen it’s grassroots structures as well as taking on board people who have the will and passion to develop the party.

The development follows resolutions made by the party’s Senior members during their National Governing Council meeting held in December last year.

Since losing the 2014 general election, PP has never featured a Presidential candidate during general election.

Ahead of the 2019 general election, PP formed an alliance with Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and the 2020 court sanctioned fresh Presidential polls PP formed an alliance with MCP, UTM, Umodzi Party and others to dislodge Peter Mutharika of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
