Churches Action in Relief and Development (CARD) has been awarded a certificate under best partner performance recognition by Machinga District Council in the area of agriculture, environment and natural resources.
Speaking during the award ceremony, Machinga District Council Chairperson, Alexander Shoti said CARD has been recognized as a partner which has performed well in the district in the year 2021.
He said among the 12 organisations working in the area of agriculture, environment and natural resources, CARD has proved to the Council and to communities by delivering the much needed development.
“This is the first of its kind in Machinga to award a best performing partner; this initiative should energize all of us. Let me applaud District Commissioner (DC), Rosemary Nawasha for her leadership which is driving the district in the right direction,” Shoti said.
Receiving the award of best performance, Executive Director for CARD, Melton Luhanga said the organization was humbled with the award considering that CARD was relatively new in the district, saying they did not expect to be selected as the best performing partner.
