A 19-year old man has died after police last night fired live bullets to disperse an angry crowd which stormed the police following death of a suspect in police custody at Bvumbwe in Blantyre.
The angry crowd is said to have turn violent and police responded to contain the situation, some live bullets were fired as police were overpowered.
Thyolo district hospital spokesperson Fanuel Makina told us this morning apart from the death of one suspect that ignited the chaos, two others were shot and one was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Makina however, says the hospital is yet to establish the number of injuries following the fracas.
Currently, there are few police officers around the scene.
