Bakili Muluzi salutes flames, attacks BBC

Former President Dr Bakili Muluzi has expressed his joy with the news of Malawi’s qualification into the round of 16 of Africa Cup of Nations.

Speaking in an interview with the press, Muluzi said, he is extremely happy and proud with what the Flames has done.

Muluzi has also advised the team to remain focused and disregard sentiments by some who think that because Malawi is poor it cannot achieve great things.

Muluzi said he is a top fan of football and the flames and he is confident that the team will beat Morocco come Tuesday, further asking all Malawians to unite and keep the team in prayers.

Malawi’s qualification follows a win registered Egypt against Sudan, and Nigeria against Guinea-Bissau.

This is the first time for Malawi to reach the round of 16 of Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
