22-Year-old Man in Custody for Murdering his Biological Father

Police in Chikwawa District is keeping in custody a 22-year-old man Thokozani Sinjirani of Chikutireni Village, Traditional Authority Maseya in the district for allegedly murdering his own biological father, Andrew Sinjirani, 60.

According to a report, the son and his father were at home while other family members had gone to the garden for some work.

The suspect brutally hacked his father in the head using a panga knife and left him lifeless for reason known to himself after receiving information of the murder, Chikwawa police station officers rushed to the scene accompanied by medical personnel from Bereu health center.

Postmortem results conducted by the medical team revealed that death was caused due to severe bleeding.

The suspect will appear in court to answer a murder charge which is contrary to section 209 of the Penal code.

Police in the district has warned that the long arm of the law will take its course for everyone who does not obey and respect the laws of this country as they condemn the behavior shown by the boy.
