ZIMBABWE – Police have arrested a 55-year-old man, Jonathan Mabhena after he allegedly killed his former lover after accusing her of causing his erectile dysfunction (ED) by bewitching him.
Jonathan and the deceased broke up months ago. He discovered that his manhood was not functioning proper and decided to confront his ex lover Gertrude Ngwenya aged 50.
A heated argument between the two escalated and it went out of control.
Mabhena allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed his former lover during the heated confrontation, he fled the scene leaving Ngwenya bleeding.
He was arrested the following day.
Matabeleland North provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Glory Banda confirmed the development saying the deceased succumbed to injuries as she was stabbed on the deceased on abdomen and both hands.
“Police in Matabeleland North Province confirms the arrest of Jonathan Mabhena (55) in connection with a murder case in which Gertrude Ngwenya (50) succumbed to injuries inflicted on her by the suspect on the 8th day of February 2022 at Lower Colliery, Hwange. The suspect stabbed the victim on the lower abdomen and on both hands using a knife.”
Mabhena will appear before court soon to answer murder charges.
