United Food Products Company banned in Malawi over bottled water mixed with oil

The Malawi Bureau of Standards has ordered the United Food Products to stop operations after noting concerns on how bottled water is manufactured at the company.
This follows a request by Mulanje Bale legislator, Victor Musowa, on Tuesday for MBS to investigate bottled water supplied to parliament after suspicion he handled one mixed with oil in a bottle branded ‘Real’.
Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara announced this in Parliament on Thursday.
Hara said that MBS is yet to furnish her office with details of the findings.
