Malawians React To Introduction Of k5, 000 Banknote

Today, Malawians have started using new 5000 kwacha banknote.

According to Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM), the introduction of the banknote is in response to its own currency management policy that guides how it reacts to economic developments.

The central bank insists the development will cut currency printing costs.

Below are some of the comments by Malawians on the new k5, 000 banknote.

William Kasambwe Banda said; This is a clear picture that chakwera has failed, this is most hypocritical fact that people in power they don’t care about those people who put them to rule,if malawians are feeling the heat I think 2025 people will never vote for this nonsense government, doing nothing but killing our economy and our children’s feature.

Petros Zgambo commented; The sad moment has creeped in Malawi, Zimbabwe took the same route and then boom the hyperinflation hit them hard, well Zimbabwe is still way better that our small poor country with 17milion live under 2 dollar per day. Next year we will be imposed with k10000 notm
