“Washing White Clothes First is Racism,” – Prophet Bushiri Trends in a new video (WATCH)

If you’re washing your white clothes first, then you are one of the people perpetuating racism, controversial Malawian pastor and founder of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has sensationally claimed.

He made these startling sentiments during one of his services, whose clip is making rounds on TikTok and Instagram.

“Racism will never end if we still make white cars and use black tyres. And racism will never end if we still use white for the wedding and black for the funeral. And racism will never end if a person is fired to be called he’s blacklisted and not whitelisted. Racism will never end if you’re washing clothes and you start with washing white clothes first,” Bushiri exclaimed to wild jubilations from his congregants.

Most Instagram users were in agreement with what the cleric said.

“Truth be told! It’s a yes,” @abuja_scarfs_and_turban said.

Olufunmi Adejumoke reiterated this: “I feel the point he is trying to make is that the white has been glorified in such a way that even our subconscious is acting on it.”

Others however found Bushiri’s message quite hilarious.

Me I was just looking at his white shirt and black suit…” Yusuf Taiwo jested.

Heis Valeed laughed: “This one don read online memes finish hahaha”

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary fled South Africa in November 2020 after being charged with fraud, money laundering, and theft.

The government says it’s awaiting a high court outcome in Malawi on whether witnesses in South Africa are compelled to testify in person in Malawi.
