The Livingstone Magistrate court has committed a 67 year old man to the Livingstone High Court in a matter he is alleged to have murdered his wife and attempting to murder his teenage daughter.
The matter came up in the magistrate court for explanation of charge.
It is alleged that Christopher Mudenda on 26th December 2021 in Livingstone, murdered his wife Mary Katungu.
On the same date, Mudenda attempted to murder his teenage daughter who remains admitted in hospital.
According to some witnesses, the accused allegedly got into a fight with his wife after their daughter misappropriated money amounting to K7.
It is alleged that Mudenda stabbed his wife in their home and his daughter was seen by passersby, running with intestines hanging out while calling for help.
The victim could not narrate at what point her father allegedly attacked her.
It is also alleged by the neighbours that the suspect in this matter is a former convict who had been convicted for defilement and served 15 years for the offence.
