Meke Mwase To Sue FAM Over Unfair Treatment After Termination Of His Contract

Meck Mwase has threatened to seek legal action within 48 hours against Football Association of Malawi (FAM) for unfair treatment after it terminated his contract as Malawi National Team Football coach.

According to Times, Mwase is demanding full withdrawal of the media statement, unconditional apology and his restoration as head coach for the Flames or alternatively payment of his full wages, salaries and all benefits for the remainder of his contract.

Mwase claims that he is owed the sum of K500 million.

The Nation reports that FAM has reinstated and redeployed Meck Mwase as U23 national team coach, barely three days after dismissing him.

Days ago, FAM announced deployment of Romanian coach, Mario Marinica as Flames head replacing Mwase who took Flames to 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) which was played in Cameroon.

Following the decision, football pundits and Malawians have voiced against the action by FAM saying its harsh and inconsiderate since contract of Mwase was yet to expire.

Others have suggested that FAM should have seen what Mwase did with Flames, taking the team to AFCON, a step which other coaches failed to climb.
