Minister of Culture Michael Usi questions family’s explanation on Martse’s death

The Tonse Alliance government through Minister of Tourism and Culture Michael Usi has demanded an explanation on the death of well-known hip-hop star Martse, real name Martin Nkhata.

Usi’s request followed an explanation by one of the family representative Uchizi Nkhata said Martse went to Monkey Bay in Mangochi on vacation.

“During the night of May 21, Martse woke up and went to the living room to charge a phone.

“Fire then broke out in the house and Martse together with other people managed to get out of the house,” said Uchizi.

According to Uchizi, Martse went back to the house and he got burned by the fire.

But speaking at the funeral, Usi said the explanation is not adding up.

“Pomwe akubanja amafotokoza za imfa ya Martse anthu anazuma kutathauza kuti sizinamveke,” said Usi while attracting ululation from the mourners.

Concurring with Usi’s remarks, Minister of Youth Richard Chimwendo Banda who represented President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera asked the law enforcers to institute and investigation on the death.

“Sizikumveka kuti munthu wawuna moto, yemweyo akalowenso munyumbamo. Apa sizikumveka ndithu,” said Chimwendo.

The funeral service is underway at Civo Stadium.

  1. The death of Martse has shocked everyone regardless of the hobby. I mean we don’t need to feel sorry for martse because we know him but we feel sorry because we loved him to be one of our entertainers. We will miss him forever. His song song #Mwano mmmmm touches me. When I heard that the big star hip-hop icon is gone this song made a lot of noise in my brain. Very bad we loved him but the creator loved him most
