Python Spotted Around Mudi River In Blantyre

There was chaos at Mudi in Limbe as Python (Nsato) was seen in the evening hours of 18:00hrs on 25 May 2022 crossing the road when people were knocking off from offices.

According to Mustafa Mussa, a minibus driver said he stopped driving on the middle of the road after seeing the snake crossing the road and his whole body was covered with fear  and his hands were cold to the extend that he failed to drive.

“I saw something so huge like a person but what surprised me most was that the thing was crawling, it was coming from one of the Mudi’s houses, I then asked the woman who was sitting in front with me if she has seen what I saw, the moment she looked through the window she started shouting and everyone in the bus was terrified,” he said.

Mussa added that the vehicles which were using the road by that time stopped while people washed the huge snake crossing the road and after sometime it disappeared.

Vincent Bottoman, Conductor of a minibus said he believes the snake belongs to one of the houses at Mudi palace because he saw it with his naked eyes coming out from one of the gates and he does not doubt about his opinion.

“I saw it myself with my own naked eyes and i was about to faint when I set my eyes on it, I believe the snake is either for rituals and it was going to take other people’s money “imapita kokawa” (Lower Sorbian),” Said Bottoman.

Agnes, one of the passengers in the minibus said she could not breathe and at the same time she was speechless because she has never seen such kind of snake ever since she was born.

“It was something else, I believe the devil has failed in his plans maybe it was crossing the road to cause an accident and because it was seen it failed, no doubt it came out to suck blood,” she explained.

It is very rare to find such big snake (Nsato) in townships, such animals are found at the national parks or wildlife game reserves in the country.
