Thieves Takes Everything After Robbing A House In Mulanje

Un-identified thieves broke into a house belonging to Chisomo Ben on the night of 7 June 2022 and took everything at Namulenga trading centre in Mulanje district.

Reports indicate that, Ben went to a 3 days Crusade in Phalombe district and left his wife (Ivy Ben) and children to look after the house.

“They usually go together whenever they have such kind of crusade but because this was out of the district and due to the weather they failed to be together on the trip,” reports say.

After dinner, they made sure that the doors were properly locked before they went to sleep and all the lights were on but surprisingly they woke up in the morning finding the door open and all items in the house were gone.

“I am their neighbor, when i woke-up in the morning i saw their door open and i thought they are doing some cleaning since it was already in the morning, Ivy called me with unusual voice and i suddenly went to her then she did not say anything but showed me inside the house,” a neighbor of Ben said.

She added that, after she was shown around the house that was when she realized that thieves broke into the house and took everything inside the house and only left the clothes and the blankets they used during the night.

While crying Ivy Ben said she believes the thieves used the window to get inside and later open the door where they use to take the items out.

“We have been telling the landlord Mr Wisike to put the protective wires in the windows but he was hesitating to do that until now, I am short of words, no doubt the thieves used charms, how could they take everything in the house without my notice,” cried Mrs Ben.

Meanwhile, the police in Mulanje are yet to comment on the matter.
