Zebra Statue Kills 3-Year Old Girl In Zambia

A three-year-old girl of Chongwe District has died after a zebra statue she was playing with fell on her.

Police deputy public relations officer Danny Mwale confirmed the incident and named the deceased as Annastasia Kashanga.

“The incident occurred on June 7, 2022 around 15:00 hours at a named private School in Chongwe District. Our initial investigations revealed that the deceased who was in her Nursery Class at the named private school, was playing on a Zebra statue made of cement when it allegedly fell on her back killing her instantly,” Mr Mwale stated.

He stated that the body is in Chongwe District Hospital Mortuary awaiting Postmortem.

Mr Mwale stated that police have opened an inquiry file to establish the actual cause of death.
