Man arrested for killing 7 people in Phalombe

Police have arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly murdering seven people and commiting serious crimes in Phalombe and Mulanje districts respectively.

South East Region police spokesperson, Rodrick Maida has identified the suspect as Mukhwiri Manyamba, of Jeke Village, Traditional Authority(T/A) Kaduya in Phalombe district.

Maida alleges that Mukhwiri has been terrorising the two districts by killing people and stealing assorted items since August 2021 through April 2022.

He says the suspect will appear in court soon to answer murder, robbery and house breaking charges, among others.
