DPP MP Ralph Jooma attacks Mutharika’s camp

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Mangochi Monkey-Bay Ralph Jooma has criticized some top officials in the party who belong to former President Peter Mutharika’s camp of changing party structures ahead of the 2023 elective conference.

Joma who is also DPP’s Director of Economic Affairs made the allegation during a rally organized by the Party’s Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey in Zomba on Sunday.

According to Jooma, the move is being done to further some aspiring Presidential hopefuls who are dying with Mutharika.

Jooma said Jeffrey has all duly approved members of the party that will be allowed to attend and cast the vote at the convention next year.

“If you think that changing structures of the party will give you an advantage for your delegates then think twice as this will not happen. No candidate will be allowed to enter the room without Secretary General’s approved name,” said Jooma.

The claims come barely a week after some officials in the party held a meeting at PAGE house in Mangochi.

Nankhumwa and Grezelder Jeffrey were not invited at the meeting.
