Gerald Chavez Kampanikiza cries to court: ‘Allow me to be paying by installments’

Social media influencer Gerald Chavez Kampanikiza filed an application before before Justice Ruth Chinangwa of the High Court Lilongwe registry, asking to be allowed to pay debt by instalments.

A court document Zodiak has seen, Kampanikiza’s debt which is 4,500, 000 Kwacha is a court order of assessment in favour of Vitumbiko Mumba who sued him for defamation.

Kampanikiza is asking the court to allow him to be settling the outstanding balance in monthly instalments of 200 000 Kwacha until the debt is settled in full.

He has told the court that he is going through financial difficulties and has a huge financial obligation, among them paying school fees for children and relatives in excess of 1,500,000 Kwacha.

Judge Chinangwa is set to deliver a ruling on the matter on June 28, 2022.
