Man gets wife’s greenlight to marry second woman in Zambia

ZAMBIA – A LUCKY man of Lusaka will no longer have to hide his relationship with his side chick after getting a seal of approval from his wife to proceed with an extramarital relationship.

Maxwell Nyalesa aged 44, got his wife’s approval to upgrade his side chick to full-time wife during a hearing in the Lusaka Boma Local Court this morning.

Nyalesa will not have to look far for his second wife as he was already in steamy relationship with his neighbor in the capital city’s sprawling Compound of Ng’ombe.

Initially, Nyalesa had been dragged to court by his wife of 16 years Elen Muhone aged 46 for reconcilation.

His wife complained that Nyalesa leaves home sometimes for a whole week saying he’s on duty at work when he was in fact staying with their single neighbor.

She said her husband had even forked out several thousands of Kwachas to help his mistress start a lucrative business, a thing he had never done for her as a wife.

Muhone begged the court to reconcile her to her husband so they could blissfully enjoy their marriage like it was in the past.

When given chance to speak, Nyalesa readily admitted to having an affair with his neighbor saying he actually considered her his wife.

Nyalesa said he had no problem with reconciling with his wife but was not ready to leave his side chick.

In response to her husband, Muhone said she had no problem with him continuing with the relationship provided he treated both women equally and fairly.

She demanded that her husband should also provide capital for her to start a business like was the case with his girlfriend.

In ruling on the matter, Senior Local Court Magistrate Lombe Chibesakunda reconciled the couple but advised Nyalesa to follow the formal procedure of marrying a second wife with the approval of Muhone.
