Social Commentator Joshua Chisa Mbele has quashed social media claims that former State House Press Officer Brian Banda is planning to contest as Member of Parliament (MP) on United Transformation Movement (UTM) ticket in forthcoming general election.
On Tuesday, the social media was awash with a poster claiming that Times Group Television Presenter Brian Banda will contest as MP in Blantyre Malabada on UTM ticket.
The poster of Brian Banda has since gone viral on social media.
Writing on his official facebook page Chisa Mbele quashed the claims and accused the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) of being behind the poster.
“If Your Views are not in line with Their Views then You are UTM or Some Enemy from Tea Estates.
“Zabodza izi,” wrote Chisa Mbele.
He added: “Brian is just a versatile journalist. He takes ridicule with humility and dignity. He is an achiever. Brand name.
“Don’t make enemies in the second year. You will need people starting in 2024~25.”
Meanwhile, Banda is yet to comment on the matter.
