Onesimus slapped on the face, denied VISA for UK trip

Afro-pop singer and songwriter Onesimus Muzik’s trip to United Kingdom has been cancelled after failing to securer VISA.

‘Panado’ hit maker was scheduled to perform at Malawi Independence Day Celebrations organized by Malawi Association UK (MAUK) on July 9, 2022 at The Clayton Hotel in UK.

The star was to share a stage with Malaika and Sasha.

The cancellation of the trip has been confirmed in a statement posted on on MAUK Facebook page.

The star has since been replaced by Phyzix.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, MAUK in collaboration with Leeds Malawi Association, would like to announce a small change to the scheduled program for Malawi Independence Day Celebrations dueon 9 July 2022.

“In preparation for this auspicious occasion, an artist from Malawi Onesimus Music was invited to grace the event.A Visa application for the artist was made early May 2022 in line with the rules, regulations, and times lines of the UK immigration authorities,” reads part of the statement.

Added the statement: “Relevant authorities such as the Leeds Local MP and our Malawi High Commissioner’s office in South Africa had been
engaged to try and expedite the visa clearance without success.

“Unfortunately to date, no response for the visa application has been received from the Immigration authorities.With this development, it is with deep regret to announce that Onesimus will not be performing this Saturday in Leeds during the Independence Day celebrations; he will perform at the next event arranged by MAUK in the UK.

“In placement for Onesimus, a vibrant live band will perform with a Malawian based artist Phyzx and other Malawian artists plus our national favourite DJ will perform as planned.”

“A number of activities have been planned on the day starting in the morning through to the evening where there will be a red-carpet event with several live performances by Malawian musicians, topped up by a 3-coursegourmet dinner and dance.”

Meanwhile, Onesimus is yet to comment on the matter.
