14 year old boy dies after consuming Whiskey

Police in Mumbwa have commenced investigations into the death of two people among them a 14-year-old female who lost their lives after consuming Whiskey.

It is reported that Mwelwa Musa, 14 and Willie Shambuluma, 26 of Lubemba Village in Mumbwa District died after consuming a Gold blend whisky.

The incident happened when Musa in the company of her 19-year- old friend met up with five men within the age of 20 to 30, leaving in the same area to go and watch traditional dances called “Vinyau” within Lubemba village.

However, along the way one male among the group bought a bottle of whisky in a bar so that they warm-up their throats in anticipation of the siesta.

Upon arrival at the main dance arena all of them collaborated in bring the intoxicating beverage to zero as they exchanged sips via one cup.

After the drinking harvest the two females in the group the whole group was drunk to stupor as the females started to vomit while the males developed headaches and stomach pains.

In there intoxicated state each person went on their way home but Musa’s condition got worse and was taken to Mumbwa District Hospital where she died around 08:50 hours on July 5, 2022.

And around 21:00 Shambuluma one the male counterparts in the group died at the same hospital.

Zambia Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga confirmed that news and stated that the other five victims’ condition is stable after to taking medication prescribed by the hospital.
