Police in Lumbadzi are hunting for unknown assailants who on July 19, 2022 assaulted to death Chisomo Chimtemwende 22, of Kayaze Village in Senior Chief Chitukula in Lilongwe.
Lumbadzi Police Spokesperson Felix Kwinyani said Chimtemwende and his mother on July 18, 2022 went to their garden for farming. Later in the afternoon his mother left him behind while playing with his three friends.
Kwinyani said surprisingly, Chimtemwende never returned from the garden and his mother thought that he had slept at of the house of his friends.
He added that following morning, Chimtemwende was found dead in the same garden by his mother in a pool of blood with two deep cuts in the head.
Postmortem results from Kamuzu Central Hospital revealed that Chimtemwende died due to severe head injuries from the assault, according to Kwinyani.
Meanwhile, police are appealing to members of the public who may have information which can lead to the arrest of the suspects in the matter to tip them.
