DPP Councillor Chimbanga attacks Chakwera

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councillor for Blantyre City Soche East Ward Leonard Chimbanga has lambasted President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera for asking Malawians to exercise patience.

When opening the National Data Centre at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHES) Chakwera asked for patience from Malawians.

He also accused some dark forces of trying to bring anarchy in the country through demonstrations and other means.

But writing on his official facebook page, Chimbanga blasted Chakwera on the matter.

“It is not fair for President Chakwera and Gospel Kazako to blame Malawians today for following up on the promises Chakwera made himself that should he fail to turn this country around he would resign. Nobody forced him to set the 2 years timeline. It is laughable that he is accusing those who are going to the streets of being impatient and anarchists yet he attained his presidency because he was also allowed to go to the streets.

“He is accusing Malawians of not being patient yet Violet Chakwera and many of his relatives have not been patient to wait for other Malawian youths to be recruited first. President Chakwera never campaigned on the completion of the DPP or APM’s projects so this excuse will not hold. Mr President stick to whatever you promised and Malawians are within their rights to hold you and your government accountable,” wrote Chimbanga.

He added: “Tell your agents to stop limiting Malawians’ freedom to demonstrate. Do not frustrate the people. If you and the few powerful are happy just enjoy it while it lasts but do not stop anyone from exercising their rights.”
