Uber drivers have been seen as bad people in some cases, they were labelled as perverts and all those names because some of them decided to take advantage on their clients and do bad things to them, some raped their clients, some kidnapped and some robbed them, there has been a lot of cases reported about these guys doing the exact opposite of their simple jobs which is to take a person from point A to point B which is their destination.
In some cases these guys are provoked, especially by women who would request a ride knowing exactly that they don’t have single cent to pay for their trip and when it is time to pay, they offer themselves just like this woman who requested a ride and did not have money to pay and she allegedly offered herself to the driver.
A video has emerged where there was a confrontation between a driver and a client who requested a ride from Khayelitsha in Cape Town, when they arrived at her unnamed destination, the driver started confronting her and she did not have a cent, she allegedly told the driver to ‘touch’ her, which he refused as he demanded for his money and nothing else.
Speaking on that short video, the driver asked the lady to pay while recording, she did not seem to be happy with being filmed and said he is unprofessional as he reminded her that she said he should touch her because she knew she doesn’t have money to pay with.
“What are we going to do now because what I need my money? Where are you going to charge your phone? I am recording you for security reasons because you were saying I should touch you and this is wrong, you understand what I am trying to say? People will be saying Uber drivers they are wrong, but it is you people who started.
“I drive all the way from Khayelitsha to here and you don’t have money, that is why you were saying I should touch you, it is unprofessional I know, I knew you don’t have money and that is why you were saying I should touch you,” the driver said while filming the woman.
As she tried to talk her way out of it his situation, the woman asked the driver where she can charge her phone, she then asked him to stop filming her since she believes it is unprofessional for him to do that, but he told her that he has to do it for security purposes, otherwise she would turn the whole situation around.
As the confrontation continued, the lady then asked the driver if they could at least go to her house where she would charge her phone, but the driver was fed up and decided that he will not be driving to any other place with her except the police station, she even tried begging him to allow her to call her sister using his phone, something which he was not prepared to do and decided that he will driver to the nearest police station.
“I am not saying you must go to my home, I am saying can we at least go to my place where I can charge my phone and transfer your money. Okay, can I at least call my sister using your phone?” the lady said, but the already fed up driver refused to allow her to use his phone saying he is taking her to the cops since he has enough evidence that she requested a ride when she did not have money.
