Two African women beat up police officer in India for calling them prostitutes (video)

Two Nigerian women have been arrested for assaulting a cop and creating a nuisance in Bengaluru, India

According to Times of India, the women thrashed the officer on Brigade Road after he tried to chase them away, saying it was too late at night for them to be roaming in the area.

However, the Nigerian women alleged that the cops had accused them of ‘soliciting for customers.’

The incident took place at 1.30am on Monday, August 29, 2022, when partygoers were getting ready to return home after eateries and pubs started downing shutters.

Police said assistant sub-inspector Venkataramana and head constable Nagaraj, both attached to Cubbon Park station, were on night-patrol duty in a Hoysala vehicle.

They reached Brigade Road around 1.30am and found four Nigerian women walking in an inebriated condition and causing a “nuisance” by abusing passersby. The police stopped their vehicle and told the women to leave the spot.

However, an argument broke out as two of the women lashed out at the cops, accusing them of being disrespectful.

Passersby, including autorickshaw drivers and food-delivery boys, gathered and started recording the incident.

The women alleged that the cops had accused them of soliciting and behaved rudely. Things got physical soon, with the women raining blows on the lathi-wielding constable and pushing him aside.

The cops informed Ashoknagar police station about the attack and additional personnel, including a woman sub-inspector, rushed to the spot. The two women were detained and taken to the police station.

They were later subjected to a medical examination, which confirmed they were drunk.

Nagaraj was taken to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital and treated as an outpatient.

DCP (central) R Srinivas Gowda said police initially registered a case against the two women under Karnataka Police Act for creating public nuisance and later charged them with obstructing cops from discharging their duty.
