Police launches manhunt of suspected Bushiri’s kidnappers

The Malawi Police Service (MPS) have launched an investigations on Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s claim that some people from South Africa have connived with Malawians to kidnap him.

National Police spokesperson, Peter Kalaya has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Kalaya, Bushiri reported the matter to law enforcers and investigations are underway.

“Bushiri is at liberty to lodge a complaint just like any other Malawian citizen when he feels that his life is danger,” said Kalaya.

On Wednesday, Bushiri through his Public Relations Officer Ephraim Nyondo pressed a panic button.

“We are extremely dismayed and astonishingly shocked by continuous intrusion into the private space of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and also attempts to kidnap him by some recognizable security personnel from South Africa.

“Through various tip-offs from well-wishers and our intelligence sources, we have it on record that these personnel from South Africa have been trailing the Prophet, to the extent of following him everywhere he goes under the guise of working under the ‘Embassy,” said Nyondo in the statement.
