Man kills wife after realizing wife’s six month pregnancy is not his

A middle-aged man has surrendered to police after hacking his wife to death.

Martin Wekesa Wayonyi reportedly hacked his wife after realizing that he was not the biological father of the unborn child.

“Wanyonyi is reported to have murdered his wife whom they were staying with in Garissa County. The circumstances of the killing are that he realized that his wife was six months pregnant and that he was not the one responsible,” police said in a report.

The couple reportedly quarreled over the weekend prompting Wanyonyi to hit the deceased on the stomach.

“They quarreled and he (Wanyonyi) kicked her on the stomach whereby the deceased bled profusely through the mouth and nose and later succumbed to her injuries,” a police report seen by Opera read in part.

Wanyonyi then went into exile after he noticed that irate members of the public were baying for his blood over the incident.

The suspect has however presented himself at the Makongeni police station in Makadara, Nairobi County.
