KENYA – Marceline Atieno popularly known by her mononym Mercy Atis, a controversial bar owner in Kitengela has expressed her disappointment after her bar was closed by stripping and walking naked. In what turned out to be a dramatic encounter, police officers made their way into the entertainment joint and arrested the owner who protested by taking off her clothes.
Police officers together with the chairman of Kajiado county in charge of Liquor and Alcohol licensing raided Motherland bar in the wee hours of Sunday night, the facility was once an eatery before turning into a strip club where ladies dance naked to entertain men.
When police officers made their abrupt raid, about 20 women were found dancing naked while taking bhang, and another group was seen having s, ex in another section of the club. Despite finding out that the entertainment joint was operating against government laws, the owner grew wild and threw insults at the officers. She said jealous people scripted the closure of her facility, she later stripped naked, and told police officers to kill her.
The naked travellers scampered to avoid arrest but unfortunately, the facility was closed and was together arrested with their employer. They are currently at Kitengela police station awaiting to be arraigned.
