Chinese national who defiled a 14 year old girl appears in court

A 49-year-old Chinese national identified as Zhou Zhenge Zhong has appeared before the chief resident magistrate court in Lilongwe where he has been charged of defilement.
Zhou is suspected to have been defiling a 15-year- old-girl in Area 48 warm heart villa, in Lilongwe whose parents work for him as cleaners.
State lawyer Assistant Superintendent of Lingadzi Police Davison Banda has asked the court to adjourn hearing of the case for seven days in order to conclude the investigations as the victim’s results from the hospital are not yet out, among others.
Meanwhile, through his lawyer Abison Chitukula, Mr Zhong has applied for a bail.
The Chinese national was arrested on 16 September by Lingadzi police.
