Taxi driver handed death sentence for killing his wife in Zambia

A 44 year old Mazabuka based Taxi driver, has been sentenced to death by hanging for killing his wife.

Byta FM Court Beat Journalist reports that Willard Mwiinga of Highlanders township stood charged with murder contrary to Section 200 Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia for murdering his wife Patience Luba (in picture).

When the matter came up for judgement before Livingstone High Court Judge – In Charge Chilombo Bridget Maka, sitting in Mazabuka, found Mwiinga guilty and convicted him to death by hanging until the doctor pronounces him dead.

Mwiinga who earlier confessed to the Police for killing 31 year old Luba later denied murdering his wife during plea.

Facts before the court were that on an unknown dates but between 17th and 18th December, 2021 Mwiinga did murder Luba.

Mwiinga hit Luba with a car jerk and wheel spanner on the forehead and the back of the head after suspecting her of having an extra marital affair and dumped her remains in a calvert near Zebra in Mazabuka.
