One MCP member killed in road accident, 9 others admitted at KCH

One member of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) is reported dead while 9 others are battling for their lives at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) after a vehicle they were travelling in overturned in Lumbadzi Township in Lilongwe.

The MCP supporters were heading to Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) to welcome President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

The deceased has been identified as Stafiyele Chagwira from Malembe Village, Senior Chief Chitukula.

“The MCP family has just lost one member who was to welcome the President at Airport today. He was involved in a car accident in Lumbadzi. Other 9 are hospitalized at Kamuzu Central Hospital.

“With a heavy heart I announce the death of Stafiyele Chagwira from Malembe Village, Snr Chief Chitukula,” reads in part a communication MCP.
