A 42-year-old man of Nakonde has been arrested for allegedly stabbing to death his girlfriend’s 31-year-old lover when he found them having s@x.
Mwebantu reports that, Jonathan Sinkamba fled the scene after he allegedly stabbed Jackson Sinkamba three times in the stomach.
Muchinga Province Deputy Commanding officer Lucky Buumba said police in Nakonde received a case of murder which occurred on Sunday around 13:00 hours.
“Brief facts of the matter are that, on the Sunday at around 22:00 hours the suspect Sinkamba went to visit his girlfriend within Ntindi village. Upon entering into his girlfriend’s house, he found her having carnal knowledge with the now deceased person and he immediately got a knife and stabbed the now deceased about three times in the stomach and fled the scene,” she said.
She said the deceased sustained a big cut on the stomach exposing his intestines and other internal organs.
“The horrified girlfriend shouted for help and neighbours quickly organized transport and rushed him to Nakonde District Hospital and he was quickly referred to Chinsali General Hospital where he died,” she said.
Ms Buumba said acting on the matter, officers instituted investigations that led to speedy apprehension of Sinkamba.
“The suspect was interviewed and he led officers to the scene of crime where he demonstrated how he stabbed the deceased. A blood stained knife suspected to have been used in the act was recovered from the scene. A docket of the case was opened and arrest made,” she said.
