Sheriffs pounce on Karonga Diocese, three vehicles confiscated

Sheriffs from Mzuzu have confiscated three vehicles and four motor cycles from Karonga Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church for failing to comply with a court order to compensate one Vitumbiko Ngwira who was unfairly dismissed as Director for Lusubiro Community Care.

Lawyer of the plaintiff Leonard Mbulo has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Mbulo, the diocese was taken to the Industrial Relations Court for its action, where on 22nd September it ordered the church to pay Ngwira K15.2millon within seven days.

Lawyer of the diocese Wesley Mwafulirwa has asked for more time to comment on the matter.

The diocese terminated Ngiwra’s contract before expiry.
