Zambian journalist Sylvester Musonda charged for sodomy

Sodomy accused journalist Sylvester Musonda Kaumba has been formally charged and arrested after three days of handing himself to police.

According to Zambia Police Rae Hamoonga, the 39 year-old, who’s a resident of Lusaka’s Kamwala area has been charged with Unnatural Offence Contrary to Section 155(a)  Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

Hamoonga however said Kaumba has since been released on police bond and is expected to appear in court soon.

Kaumba handed himself to the police on Friday after news circulated that he was on the run following accusations that he sodomised a mentally challenged person.

But when Kalemba contacted him, he said he wasn’t on the run and was in high spirit.
