The Zomba Senior Resident Magistrate Court has sentenced 28-year-old Ibrahim Lifa to four years in imprisonment for indecent assault.
Zomba Police deputy spokesperson Aaron Chilala said the court heard through prosecutor Chimpanzi Katukwana that the convict indecently assaulted his five-year-old daughter on May 9.
Katukwana told the court that the convict has two kids who stay with their mother as they are on separation.
However on, May 8, 2022 the kids visited him at Airwing location where the father invited the victim into his bedroom where he violated her.
When she reached home, the victim reported the matter to her mother who immediately informed the police.
Lifa pleaded not guilty to the charge, prompting the state to parade three witnesses.
Senior Resident Magistrate Yohane Munthali slapped Lifa with four years in imprisonment with hard labour.
