Angry mob kills murder suspect brother in Lilongwe

Police in Lilongwe are hunting for a group of assailants that killed a man after his brother had murdered their relative.

Lilongwe Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Foster Benjamin told the press that mob allegedly stoned to death 36-year old Mavuto Phesele after it hunted in vain though, for his elder brother, Arkangel Phesele, 38, whom it accused of killing Fabiano Sapesa, 64.

On Saturday November 5 2022, Sapesa went to drink beer at Mabwera Trading Centre in Traditional Authority Kabudula’s area where he quarreled with a fellow drunkard, Arkangel Phesele, which descended into a fight.

Benjamin adds that this angered the relatives who sought Arkangel out and ended up capturing his elder brother, Mavuto.

They instantly stoned him to death in apparent revenge.
