MUST speaks out on rumours of a female student taking own life

The Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) has dismissed rumours purporting that one of its female students has committed suicide over relationship matters.

Over the weekend social media was awash with the claim that a female student name withheld has terminated her life over love matters.

The photo of the said female student flooded social media.

But MUST spokesperson James Mphande has trashed the rumours.

“Our investigations so far show this is not true and all students are on holiday,” said Mphande in an interview.

The country is currently experiencing a sharp rise in suicide case with men dominating the list.
