The South African Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) has upheld the Gauteng High Court’s finding that former president Jacob Zuma’s medical parole was illegal, South African local media reports.
On September 10 2021, a concerned opposition political party the Democratic Alliance applied to the Gauteng High Court to review and set aside Correctional Services Commissioner Arthur Fraser’s decision to place former president Jacob Zuma on medical parole.
Today, the Supreme Court has therefore ordered Mr Zuma to return to prison to finish the remaining jail term.
