SPC Colleen Zamba orders Inspector General to impound govt vehicles

The Secretary to the President and Cabinet has written the Inspector General of Police requesting to impound government vehicles to help meet the shortfall of vehicles required for a successful hosting of the Regional 5 Youth Games.

The development come barely two before the commencement of the regional five tournaments in the capital Lilongwe.

In a letter seen by this publication addressed to the Inspector General, among the requirements for successful hosting of the games is availability of motor vehicles to transport various delegates and players but efforts to mobilise the required number of vehicles through circular letters from the office have not yielded the required number of vehicles from Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

Malawi will host the Region 5 Youth Games from 2nd to 11nd December, 2022 in Lilongwe.
