Thyolo Justice Stakeholders Pledge to Improve Customer Care and Coordination Services for Marginalized Groups

At a meeting organized by the National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE Trust) in Thyolo district on January 12th, 2023, justice stakeholders promised to improve customer care and coordination services to ensure that people in need receive justice without challenges.

This commitment comes after Charles Yuweni, a person with a physical disability, expressed concern that some public officials in courts and police stations were dismissive and unhelpful when he sought assistance.

To address these issues, Thyolo Police Officer in-Charge, Isaac Norman, announced that they have increased on-the-job trainings to remind officers in the district of basic professional ethics and customer care in an effort to regain the trust of the community.

The district civic education officer, Moses Kaunda, and Senior Chief Nchiramwera also emphasized the importance of harmonization when serving marginalized groups, including the less privileged, women, and persons with disabilities.
