Police at Kanengo in Lilongwe have arrested a 31 year old Wanaloli Kalinga for allegedly defiling his 12 year old step daughter over the weekend.
Kanengo Police Public Relations Officer, Sub Inspector Gresham Ngwira said that victim’s mother Shariah Winnesi found the girl scratching her private parts strangely and when she asked the girl’s friend to check her, it was discovered that she had multiple sores.
Ngwira adds that Winesi took the girl to the hospital where she was diagnosed with Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s) and further revealed her step father had been defiling her since 2021.
Kalinga will appear before court soon to face defilement charges contrary to section 138 of the Penal Code.
He hails from the area of Traditional Authority Mwaulambia in Chitipa District.
