Two people arrested in Thyolo for attempting to sell a boy at MK2 million

Police in Thyolo have arrested two people for allegedly trafficking and offering to sell an eight-year-old boy at K2 million.

Thyolo Police deputy spokesperson, Rabecca Kashoti, said the two; Eneson Finias,19 and Kawasi Chidothi, 35, reportedly trafficked the boy from Bereu primary school in Chikwawa on 27 January, 2023 with an intention to sell him in Thyolo.

“Later on, a community policing member tipped the victim’s father that the suspects were offering him for sale to a businessman Ever Manjolo Lanken, 31, of Makhamba Village, Traditional Authority (TA) Ngomano in Thyolo,” said Kashoti.

She added: “the businessman together with the suspects and victim went to TA Ngomano who posed as a buyer, but he also notified the community policing members about the plot who later apprehended the two suspects and rescued the boy.”
