Hakainde Hichilema appoints Professor Margaret Munalula as ConCourt President

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has appointed Professor Margaret Munalula as Judge President of the Constitutional Court.

Professor Munalula was Constitutional Court Deputy Judge President before her appointment.

The President has further appointed Arnold Shilimi as Deputy President of the Constitutional Court.

The Head of State has also appointed Mudford Mwandenga, Judge Maria Kawimbe and Judge Kenneth Mulife as Judges of the Constitutional Court.

President Hichilema has also appointed Judge Mwiinde Siavwapa as Judge President of the Court of Appeal, Judge Abha Patel, S.C, and Judge Yvonne Chembe as Judges of the same court.

The head of State has also appointed 12 High Court judges.

And Mr Hichilema has appointed Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education director Anne Malata — Ononuju and 11 others as Judges of the High Court Judges.

The other appointees are; Laston Mwanabo, Mwaka Samundengu, Enias Chulu, Mbile Wina, Obister Musukwa, Geoffrey Mulenga, Malaro Nyirenda, Vincent Siloka, Greenwell Malumani.

The rest are Mabolobolo Mwananjiti and Situmbeko Chocho and Anne Malata — Ononuju.

This is contained in a statement issued this evening by State House Chief Communication Specialist Clayson Hamasaka.

Mr Hamasaka said the appointments, which are pursuant to Article 140 (c) (d) and (e) of the Constitution, are subject to ratification by the National Assembly.
