Police shoots two students from New Foundation Private Secondary School in Phalombe

Two students of New Foundation Private Secondary School in Phalombe have been shot while some suffocated after police fired tear gas to disperse an angry mob that bayed for the blood of a business man in the district.

Acting director of health and social services for Phalombe, Dr. Sam Sibakwe has confirmed pf the development in an interview with press on Thursday.

Sibakwe said indeed the hospital received two casualties, saying one has been shot on the leg, while another on the arm.

Eyewitnesses claim a man went missing yesterday on his way from Mozambique and he was reportedly telling his relations through a on phone call, that he was being kept in one of the houses near Migowi Trading Centre, a development that led an angry mob to pounce on the house of the businessman, damaging his property in the process.

Witnesses say when police officers searched the house in question based on the claims, they did not find the missing man.

Police are yet to give an official comment on the incident.
