Police in Mulamje are hunting for assaulters who murdered a community police forum member in the district.
Spokesperson for Mulanje, Innocent Moses has identified the deceased person as Robert Nyaude aged 35 from Namale Village, Traditional Authority Mthiramanja in the district.
An eyewitness Layton Saidi said Nyaude who was a business person his house was attacked by unknown criminals who were armed with panga knives and a shock stick, the deceased had responded to his call for help during the robbery but the criminals overpowered him and hacked him and went away with a laptop bag containing K65, 000 cash and a jersey.
According to Moses, Nyaude was taken to Mulanje District Hospital where he was pronounced dead while receiving treatment due to severe loss of blood as it was revealed after the postmortem.
