POLICE RECOVER BODY OF MISSING PERSON WITH ALBINISM UNEARTHED BY CYCLONE FREDDY

Police in Phalombe have recovered the body of Ajati Namanya, a person with albinism who went missing on January 28, 2023.

Namanya who was also known as OG Issa, his body  was found stuck on the bank of Namithiri River with all limbs and private parts missing, is suspected to have been unearthed by Cyclone Freddy from a shallow grave where his suspected assailants buried him.

Namanya’s body was found in a decomposed state, and has been positively identified by relatives.

In February, the police arrested seven suspects who are currently on remand at Mulanje Prison in connection to his missing.

Postmortem done by health personnel revealed that Namanya died as a result of the amputation of the limbs.

Ajati Namanya was 39-year old hailed from Tezanga Village, Traditional Authority Chiwalo in Phalombe District.
