Bingu remembered in style: Mutharika captured laying wreath (see photos)

Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on Wednesday led family members in a memorial service of late Bingu wa Mutharika at Mpumulo wa Bata in Thyolo.

Conspicuously missing at the memorial service was former first lady Calista Mutharika, a wife to late Bingu wa Mutharika.

The memorial service started with a mass which was presided over by Fr Tarmazio Ngoma of Blantyre Archdiocese.

After the mass, family members led by Peter Mutharika and former first lady Gertrude Mutharika and some party top officials laid wreath on Bingu’s Tombstone.

The family members also laid wreath at the Tombstone of former first lady Ethel Mutharika.
